The Advent calendar is one of my favorite Christmas traditions to do with the family.
An Advent calendar is traditionally used to count down the 25 days to Christmas, usually for children. Growing up we had a pocket Advent calendar in our home and that is what I have used for years with my own children.
I love DIY Advent calendars for so many reasons and they are great for keeping it simple in your home.
This year, with the release of the Aldi Wine Advent Calendar in the United States it got me wondering what other fun and unique Christmas Advent Calendars were out there.
The Advent Calendar for adults is a fun new concept that lets the grown ups get in on the countdown fun along with the kids. As Advent Calendars become more and more popular you can find so many great options to purchase for both kids and adults to countdown to Christmas!
Popular Kids Advent Calendars
An extremely popular kids advent calendar are the ones from LEGO. The LEGO Advent Calendars are filled with mini figures, vehicles, and some building pieces. They come in a variety of styles such as LEGO City, Starwars, and LEGO Friends.
You can find other children’s advent calendars in just about every toy and character there is. The Playmobile advent calendar is another popular one as is the Barbie Advent Calendar.
Some of the new hot toys even have their own Advent Calendars now! You can find a fun Hatchimals Advent Calendar or an Advent Calendar of Paw Patrol figures.
Advent Calendars for Toddlers are a great way to introduce them to the younger children. We love the Melissa & Doug Magnetic Advent Calendar as well as the Step 2 My First Advent Calendar.

Kids don’t get to have all the fun though, Adults can enjoy Advent Countdown Calendars too!
I splurged this year and purchased the coveted Aldi Wine Advent Calendar (yes, it’s true, they sold out extremely fast as each store only received 10 of them!). We also picked up the Aldi Cheese Advent Calendar and I would love to purchase Costco’s Beer Advent Calendar for my husband.
