Every day I pick my kids up from school and the first thing they is that they are hungry. They walk through the door absolutely starving! If I don’t have something already prepared for them they immediately go to the pantry and start grabbing the first things they see – often none of which is healthy or the types of foods their bodies need. What they need is all natural, high in protein foods that will satisfy them and fuel their minds and bodies.
Instead of letting them grab unhealthy snacks from the pantry, I have a go-to after school snack that is easy, all natural, and the kids love it! As soon as they are home I put out a Turkey Snack Platter!
The Turkey snack platter is so simple to put together and easy for the kids to grab what they’d like before beginning their homework. And best of all, I know they are getting all natural foods that are good for them instead of junk.
Turkey Snack Platter
What you need:
* Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey
* Cheese or Nuts
* Bite Sized Dried or Fresh Fruits
* Sliced Veggies
* Large Platter
* Fun party picks First start with Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey, and dress it up by making little pinwheels out of it. I choose the Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey because it is nutritious and delicious. It is free of nitrates/nitrites and contains lower sodium. It is 98% fat free and made from 100% turkey breast meat.
To make the pinwheels, I fold the turkey slice lengthwise in thirds. Then starting at on end, roll the turkey and secure with a party pick.
I always choose fun tooth picks, like the party picks shown in the picture, to make it interesting for the kids. Seasonal picks are also a great addition! They really enjoy the bite sized pieces and eating off of the picks in instead of a sit-down snack. Add small cubes of cheese, nuts, dried fruit, bite sized fresh fruit, and sliced veggies. I change up what I might add to the turkey rolls, depending on what I happen to have on hand. For this particular platter I served them cheese cubes, dried apples, and carrot and celery sticks.
