Julian, Ca is a little hidden gem in Southern California. Day trips in winter for some snow and sledding, you can visit mines and pan for gold, and one of my fall favorites, Apple Picking! This orchard we visited last year had rows and rows of all organic dwarf apple trees. I was really surprized at how many trees they had, it was much larger (this coming from a city girl) than I expected.
For $10 you can Pick a Half a Peck-sorry, I couldn’t resist, that’s what size the bags are. We ended up with three bags since even little Pixi wanted her own bag…and I can’t wait to get baking on some apply goodness!
Julian also celebrates Apple Days with an annual festival. This year the Festival will be held October 5 & 6, 2013.
Most of the Orchards start their U-pick season THIS weekend. A full list of the orchards can be found HERE.
