This morning I wanted to make French toast to use up some potato bread that I had, but didn’t feel like standing at the stove for an extended period of time. I decided to throw it all in a casserole dish and bake it instead. Really easy and really yummy! I got rave review from all three P’s.
Ingredients:
- 8 or 9 slices of bread
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk or half and half
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- maple syrup
- powdered sugar
In a buttered 13 x 9 pan layer the bread slices. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl. Pour egg mixture over the bread slices making sure to cover each piece. Drizzle with maple syrup and bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with fresh fruit!
