New years eve is not just for the grown-ups! In fact, for the past 8 or so years we have had completely kid-friendly evenings. Most of them resulted in us not staying awake until midnight but we still enjoyed festivities with the kids. First up, when preparing for a kid-friendly new years is plenty of New Years Eve crafts, like these Balloon Confetti poppers! Like any good new years eve craft it involves confetti and loud pops.
Balloon Confetti Poppers
Balloon confetti poppers are an easy and fun new years eve craft for the kids to make. For this project you will need some simple supplies:
To start, you will need to make your confetti. Of course you can buy confetti also, but what’s the fun in that?!
You can use any color paper, scraps or whole. Layer the paper and punch lots and lots of holes with the hole punch. Gather the small circles as you go into a bowl.
If their little hands get tired while punching the paper you can have them cut with scissors instead. An adult will need to supervise and possibly help. The smaller the pieces, the better.
When you have collected enough confetti to fill several balloons you will begin to fill them. Place the bottom of the funnel into the balloon and fill with confetti. When you have filled it, blow the balloon up to capacity and knot the bottom.
New Years Eve Craft
For some new years eve fun, count down with the kids and have them pop the balloons. If you want confetti to fall from the air, Times Square style, hold the balloons up to pop them. The kids will love celebrating with this awesome new years eve craft whether you are having a party or just enjoying family at home!
