Yesterday we gave it a good clean and today it is time to organize under the bathroom sinks. Bathrooms are probably the hardest room in the house to organize, they hold so much stuff! It’s also difficult because the storage space ranges from absolutely nothing (such as in a powder room) to one with lots of cabinets but no drawer space, or my own personal challenge; a large Master Bath with no wall space! I’m going to have to get creative and I can’t wait to post pictures of what I come up with!
Here’s our list:
- throw out the empty bottles of product
- throw out any product you no longer use
- wipe out inside of cabinets/drawers
- get creative with the storage solutions~think outside the bathroom, a lot of great storage ideas can be found in other areas of the house, put them in the bathroom
I went super simple with the bathroom storage in our house. These plastic baskets are perfect for containing product under the sink. I have two here, one for dry items (q-tips, cotton swabs, extra razors) and one for liquid items. There is nothing fancy about this organization strategy. If I am looking for something I can pull the whole basket out. They also keep the bottled items for falling over and rolling all over the place, and the plastic is easy to wipe out if something were to spill.
I used these small square bins in the drawers to separate like items such as nail polish, nail tools, and small creams. They fit nicely in my small drawers.
Make-up is a huge obstacle in our master bathroom. I’ve gone for the “organized clutter” look here. A pretty basket on the counter holds all my everyday make-up items and a small mason jar holds my brushes and eyeliners. Since I hardly have time to put make-up on in the first place, let alone put it all neatly back in it’s place, this works out perfect for me! It is all readily available out on the counter, but still contained neatly.
