We don’t have the time to devote hours to working out but want desperately to improve ourselves, have a little ‘me time’, make our bodies healthy again.
After having children I struggled to find a fitness routine that worked for me.
I had gained and lost 50 lbs with each of my children over the course of ten years. My body was not my own and I really wanted it back – I wanted to be healthy and strong again!
But how do you fit in a workout every day when you are toting around four kids, working from home, and trying to keep up with housework – most days it seemed nearly impossible.
I tried the gym, so many times. I wanted to be a regular there but no matter what I tried I just could fit a gym workout into my schedule – and it was SO EXPENSIVE!
The gym daycare is only open during certain hours and to top it off my toddler did not like going, she would scream and cry until they came and got me every, single, time.
If I were lucky, I’d make it to the gym once every two weeks and lets face it – that is not how a workout program is successful.
So I stopped going. I put ME on hold again and again and again.

Finally I decided to reach out to a friend – I knew she did her workouts at home, and she was in fabulous shape so she must have some secret.
I was right – she DID have a secret. She knew all about the best home workout – one that would work perfectly for busy moms!
With this home workout you don’t need any fancy gym equipment, you don’t have to devote more than 60 minutes a day (some days as few as 30 minutes) to get amazing results, and best of all it’s AFFORDABLE (no high priced gym memberships)!
The best home workout program I have found – and the best way for busy moms to get in shape and feel good about themselves – is called 80 Day Obsession.
With this program I get my workout in while life happens.
All I have to do is hit play and get it done – sometimes I do it early in the morning, other times I squeeze it in during nap time, and sometimes I fit it in at the last minute and everyone joins in!
I know 80 Days sounds a little daunting but it’s set up as a lifestyle change and NOT just a quick fix – which moms, I know we want the quick fix (and trust me, you WILL start to see results within the first couple weeks if you follow the program) but a lifestyle change is what we NEED.
A lifestyle change is what is going to give us the confidence and happiness back that we had with our bodies pre-baby, it’s what will give us more energy to keep up with out kids.
The program starts out slowly and builds to strengthen and tone over time, making you stronger, leaner and healthier each day. Each exercise can be modified to fit ability levels, too, so don’t be discouraged if you aren’t there yet. This is for ALL ability levels and together we can build up our strength and flexibility.
Now, let’s talk the logistics of the program. I’ve already said that you don’t need an expensive gym membership or fancy equipment and you absolutely do not. But you DO need a few things.
- Free Weights (various weight amounts, depending on your ability level and if you don’t have weights or you’ve never lifted any weight, you can start out the program using just body weight or even grab a few soup cans)
- Resistance Bands (these are a must and don’t cost more than a few dollars)
- Exercise Slides (for much of the core work, if you don’t have the slides I recommend getting them, they will take your core work to a whole new level)
- Access to the home workout videos (about $10/month and way cheaper than a gym membership – heck $10 is what you pay for a fast food meal these days!)
