What do you do when you have a surplus of apples? You make bite sized apple pies!
This miniature version of a traditional apple pie is quick to make and will be the perfect dessert to serve at your summer soiree or backyard BBQ. Who doesn’t love an All American Apple Pie?!
This is a recipe that I threw together after we had been apple picking. I was trying to come up with some fun ideas to use up all of those apples!! I love apple pie but didn’t want to make a whole one. Instead I wanted a fun twist on a traditional recipe and I thought these would be fun and easy for the kids!
- 18-20 small apples (the apples we picked were from dwarf trees)
- 1 box Pilsbury Refrigerator Pie Dough
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375.
Peel, Core, and Slice the apples. Place in a large bowl and toss with lemon juice and flour. Stir in Sugar and Cinnamon.
Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface with a rolling pin. Using a cup with a 4-5 inch diameter cut circles in the the dough. Place dough circles in muffin tins and fill with apple mixture.
Bake at 375 for 20 min. Let cool and remove gently from muffin tin.
These are the perfect size for a scoop of vanilla ice cream too!
