For this year’s Halloween costume Peyton decided early on she want to be ‘Tinkerbell with a Tutu’! Easy enough, right?
I have two sisters and every year my Mom would make our costumes…they were wonderful! We could dress up in anything we could imagine and she would make it for us! Well, when my mom gave me her 20+ year old sewing machine a couple of years ago I knew then and there I would be carrying on the tradition of crafting and sewing my Children’s dreams!
I used one of Too Tutu Cute’s handmade tutus, of course, for the skirt of the costume. For the shirt, I bought a white Hane’s girls camisole shirt and died it green using Tulip fabric die. And for the shoes, I bought white satin ballet slippers and also died them green. I then covered them in permanent fabric glue and sprinkled green glitter on them. To finish them off I glued big white fluff balls on the toe! The only part I ‘cheated’ on are the wings. I ordered the Light-Up Tinkerbell Wings from Disneystore.com.
