If you tend to buy fruits and vegetables in bulk and want a fast, easy, and NATURAL way to wash them, you must try this!
With a family of 6 and dietary recommendations of eating half a plate of colorful fruits and veggies each meal, we buy A LOT of fresh fruit and vegetables. The problem is, how do you wash them all?
We try to buy organic when we can, but to be honest its not always affordable OR available so I always make sure to wash our fruits and veggies well. There are washes on the market that are marketed exactly for this but I am not a fan of those products – instead I came across this method to wash my veggies a couple of years ago and have been using it ever since. It makes washing vegetables to prepare for the week so easy!
Easy & Natural Fruit and Vegetable Wash
Directions:
Add 1 cup of distilled, white vinegar to your clean kitchen sink, fill with lukewarm water and add fruits and veggies. Let them soak for 5 minutes. Rinse and let dry on a towel.
You will be amazed at how much dirt, particles, and even some critters will be in the water when you are done! Simple right?
And what do we do with all those veggies? Well to start…we Juice them! The kids love smoothie bowls for breakfast, and of course we always have a variety on hand for snacks and lunch and dinner sides.
