Our family, like so many, is insanely busy. Between school, work, and sports it can get a little crazy. Our schedules are often unpredictable….except for one night. Friday! We have a little tradition around here; Family Fun Night.
Friday night starts out with Pizza for Dinner, some nights we order in but most we prefer to set up a station and everyone gets to make their own. Dinner is followed by games! Everything from board games to video games goes. We all look forward to this every week, and the Wunderkids love it when we get a new game to play!
This week we were so excited that we had the opportunity to play the new Smurfs 2 Game by Ubisoft on the Play Station 3.
(The game is available for PS3, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, XBOX 360, and Nintendo Wii U)
When I told the Wunderkids that we would be getting this game, they could not wait and checked the mailbox every day for a week. It just happened to arrive on the perfect day, FRIDAY!
The two older ones in our house are just getting into video games so this was a real treat. They haven’t had much experience with them so I was pleased that the Smurfs 2 Game was one that they both could understand and had the skills needed to play. The story line was appropriate as well as the difficulty levels in play for these novice gamers.
Wunderbaby is still a bit too small for video games, but she happily watched the big kids and brought out her Smurf figurines to be a part of our family night.
The game begins with a short story. In the story all the Smurfs are having a party for Smurfette when Gargamel ruins their plans and kidnaps her! The Smurfs then go on an adventure through dangerous enchanted lands to unlock their friends and save Smurfette. (Since Smurfette has been kidnapped she is not available as a character to play with until you save here…Wundergirl was a little bummed about this).
At each level players meet a new challenge and when all levels have been completed, and Gargamel defeated….Smurfette is saved! Yay, the party can resume! *Once Smurfette is freed any player is able to use any of the Smurfs to play in the game and they can change their character (each one has a different strength) at any time.
The nostalgia of a childhood cartoon had Wunderdad and I playing as well! And the whole family is now singing La-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la This is definitely a game we will be playing routinely on our Family Fun Night. In fact, we’ve all been playing on other nights as well 😉
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
