Dress up your home for the Holidays with a Farmhouse Christmas Tree
I just love the sweet simplicity of the farmhouse home decor style. With the different woods and textiles it just makes a home feel so cozy so naturally, at Christmastime I’m decorating a Farmhouse Christmas tree…or two!
As the Farmhouse style, Modern Farmhouse style, or Rustic Farmhouse style decors are so popular right now so are Farmhouse Christmas decorations.
The focal point for any room during the holidays is always the Christmas tree. Big and beautiful with warm lights glowing, a Christmas tree added to any room instantly feels like Christmas has arrived.
Decorating a farmhouse Christmas tree can be as simple as gathering pinecones and simple white ball ornaments or more extravagant with added ribbons and banners.
My favorite part about a farmhouse Christmas tree, though is that is is made to look like you’ve brought elements from all over your home and the outdoors.
Handmade ornaments are perfect for a farmhouse Christmas tree as well as simple burlap ribbons. Use kitchen string or twine as ornament hooks and send the kids out to gather up some pinecones.
You can add modern elements to your rustic tree like store bought farmhouse style ornaments or you can use your imagination to create your own homemade ornaments.
You can be creative with the stand or skirt as well. Check out the local thrift shop for wicker baskets or old buckets, even an old wood crate will really give your farmhouse Christmas tree a unique look.
Since a farmhouse style tree is so popular these days you can also buy a farmhouse Christmas tree stand online, like this metal christmas tree collar or this wicker basket tree stand – just in case you don’t have time to search those flea markets and antique shops.
The most important thing, though, when decorating your farmhouse Christmas tree is to make sure it reflects your own personal style.
This year I ended up with two trees in my living room and one in my dining room. As I was gathering ideas for decorating my own farmhouse Christmas tree, I found some truly beautiful inspirations.
I opted to keep it simple in the living room using white ornaments and pinecones with a burlap christmas ribbon on the corner tree.
The other tree is the focal point for both the front porch and the living room – I kept the same natural and white theme adding bits of gold and topping with our family’s Angel tree topper.
This tree has it’s own bit of personality with a fur tree skirt, too!

I love that you can use all of the same basic elements and change up the look by added a little bit of color or a different piece of ribbon.
