Disclosure: As part of a select group, I was sent two leapbands and product samples of Cliff Bars for kids to participate in Fit Made Fun Day.
On September 6, 2014 Leapfrog set out to break a few records to coincide wit the launch of their new product the LeapBand. With the help of Mia Hamm and 300 kids in Santa Monica, CA….they did it!
We were also chosen to be a part of the Fit Made Fun day by sharing the product and activities with our friends. To read more about the leapband and Fit Made Fun, see below.
Every Saturday and a couple times a week, our family spends several hours at the football field. We love this time together as a family, watching Wunderboy enjoy his sport but the girls can get antsy. They want to run around and get moving but it’s hard to focus their energy with wide open spaces. When we were chosen to try out Leap Frog’s new Leapband along with some delicious Cliff Kids Zbars, I knew exactly where we’d put them to the test–the sidelines of one our little guys’ games!
There are a lot of “Sideline Sisters” (and a couple brothers too) that are always looking for something to do during our 3 hours at the filed on game day. Last Saturday, as part of Leapfrog’s Fit Made Fun day, I packed up our party and took it to the field for the siblings to get moving while their brothers played some football!
Leapfrog has a ton of great resources for getting the kids moving and grooving, along with some fun printable pages. Check out their site for coloring sheets, board games, and activities all centered around getting the kids up and active and having fun.
The sideline sisters were all about the coloring pages. It was a very hot day so they were enjoyed meeting the leapband characters in the shade. The snacks are always a plus!
These little guys thought the leapband was the coolest! Here you can see one of the kids “swimming like a fish” and earning points.
While the kids had a great time jumping like kangaroos and roaring like a tiger, I was able to answer a few question about the leapband for the moms.
What age is group is this best suited for? Leapfrog recommends ages 4-7. While all of my kids have had a great time with the leap band, My 3 year old (almost 4) gets the most use out of it. She loves to wear it all day and while we are at home or out running errands she will do a few challenges. We also have had kids as old as 10 try it out and have fun.
What is the leapband? The Leapband is a wearable activity tracker for your children.
How does it work? When your child turns on their leapband they will choose their pet and give him a name. The pet will then prompt them to complete fun activity challenges, such as jump like a frog. Once the challenge is complete they will earn jewels for their treasure chest. The more jewels they earn, the more perks and pets they can add to their band.
