Time spent together, away from the hectic daily schedule is so important to my family and I. One of the ways we accomplish this is by camping! It is so fun to take the kids out for a few days, unplug and just relax and be together. But, kids are kids, and sometimes they need a few things to keep them entertained or encourage some exploring of their natural surroundings. A kids camping kit is a great treat to bring along with them!
The camping kit provides a few necessities and a few fun items, and can be put together with inexpensive things found at the dollar store.
I include a flashlight for them to use at night since there usually isn’t much light available at campsites. This comes in handy when you need to make a bathroom run, and can provide lots of fun with shadow puppets or exploring at night.
They love to light themselves up with glow sticks so I always include a package of those as well.
A deck of playing cards and some bubbles make great entertainment in small or outdoor spaces. The little ones love the bubbles and the big kids can play a game of go fish!
Lastly, I have included a fun bug collector. Anywhere you go camping there are always critters to find and these are fun little containers to hold them in and view through the magnifying glass. Since we usually go camping at the beach, my children like to fill them with seashells that they find!
Do you take your kids camping? I would love to hear about all your fun adventures!
