Nothing beats some good old fashioned fun like playing in the mud. We have had our little plastic kitchen for 6 years, it was a birthday gift when my oldest daughter turned 2. It has gotten it’s fair share of cooking use by her, her little brother, and then little sister. But now, it’s time to find a new home for our little gourmet kitchen. No, we didn’t give it away! We moved it outside!
I found a good dirt spot, right up against the fence. Actually, this is the area that they usually dig in anyway so it’s perfect. A trip to the Dollar store for a dish tub, a set of measuring cups, and 3 cake pans (total of $5) and voila! the Mud Pie ‘Bistro’ as we call it, was open for business.
Leaves, Bark, Flowers — anything goes in a good mud pie!
I love creating outdoor spaces for them to enjoy the sun, fresh air, and use their imaginations. And from the looks of things this one is a hit. Now, we had a plastic kitchen already, but if you don’t it’ might be worth checking out some garage sales for one!
