If you are a fan of family movie night then you are going to HAVE to try this recipe for Stovetop Kettlecorn!  It is a favorite in our house.

kettlecorn1

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 tsp. sea salt

Heat coconut oil in a large pan on high.  Stir in the sugar and popcorn kernels until coated.  Reduce heat just slightly.  Place the lid on the pan and shake over heat.  You want to keep the kernels and the sugar moving so it doesn’t burn.  After a few minutes the kernels begin to pop.  Keep it moving until popping slows to 1 or 2 every second.  Turn off heat, remove lid and toss with sea salt.  The Kettlecorn will be HOT so be careful.

Enjoy!

I love, love, LOVE making stove top popcorn, and I love using coconut oil, so I am definitely bookmarking this recipe because I've yet to be able to master the art of Kettle Corn. This is the first recipe I've come across that utilizes the use of coconut oil, too, so extra love. <3
