Friday was Wundergirl’s last day of school and thanks to the great SoCal weather we kicked Summer off right! (Wunderboy still has a couple days of school left, he ‘graduates’ from Pre-K on Thursday) I am still having trouble grasping that in a few short months, I will have a second grader and a kindergartener!
I love this time of year, there is so much to celebrate so I can’t just let the day go by like any other day.
We are so please with Wundergirl’s accomplishments this year. She grew so much and turned into an avid reader far surpassing grade level standards. Her academic accomplishments amaze me!
I like to give the kids a little goody basket on the last day of school. We fill it with lots of summer fun. This years basket included:
- water shoes
- water balloons
- glow stick
- new book for summer reading (I chose “Joy the Summer Vacation Fairy” for WunderGirl, she loves all the Rainbow Magic Fairy Books )
- squirt guns
- dive rings
- bubbles
- sidewalk chalk
- A new bathing suits and beach towels are also a good idea to add.
You can see other Welcome to Summer Bucket ideas HERE.
After we picked her up from school it was on to a friends house for a pool party and then home to a little water fun in the backyard! I can’t wait to get our Summer Bucket List started!
If you’re looking for some quick ideas for end of the year teacher gifts I’ve got you covered. Here are some of the goodies we have given in the past:
