Parentitis… you know, like Senioritis but for the parents.
The school year is winding down and we have about had it with waking the kids up to get to school on time, pack up the lunches, and send them all off dressed and prepared for the day. We are done.
The lunches are being made from whatever you can find in the back of the pantry – or you’ve given up all together and are letting them buy hot lunch. You no longer care if your child is wearing mismatched socks as long as they are clean and he makes it to school on time. Volunteering? Yea, that’s not happening anymore.
We are so looking forward to Summer Vacation! I think most parents are as excited about the school year ending as the kids!
5 easy ways to kick-off the Summer Vacation
#1 Put together a Welcome to Summer bucket. The kids LOVE these! Fill them up with summer goodies and have them waiting for them when they get home.
#2 Just Add Water. Most schools have a half day on the last day of school so why night take advantage of that first day with a pool party, afternoon trip to the beach, or a backyard water fight? Get the neighborhood together and have a blast!
#3 Plan out your Summer Vacation – start checking off those bucket list items and plan out all the activities you want to do before they go back to school in the fall.
#4 Cold sweet treats – take them out for ice cream or even better make your own at home! Invite some friends over for a welcome to summer celebration to share in the fun with you.
#5 Take a trip – we have been known to plan our summer vacations to start as soon as the bell rings on the last day of school. The kids will be so excited when you show up after school, everything packed and ready to go – bonus points if you make it a surprise. Even if you’re not taking a road trip you could plan a day trip to one of their favorite summer places or enjoy a staycation locally for the weekend.
