You know the part in the “about me” section where I say I’m an expert cat herder? Ya, well that term comes from grocery shopping with the Wunderkids. It is pure torture. All three of them going a hundred miles a minute, knocking things over, and squeeling as loudly as possible….all in opposite directions. You get the picture right?
I have tried just about everything to keep their attention while I frantically throw things into the cart before there’s another meltdown or ‘clean up on isle four’ incident, praying that I don’t skip over something on my list. Well, today I came up with a new game, and it gets two thumbs up! I made it through the store, getting everything on my list, without one single meltdown! Hooray!
The game? Is Supermarket BINGO!
I created BINGO boards with items that could be found in the commissary, handed each of them a pen and a clipboard and we were off. They first played a traditional round of five across and then we decided to see who could fill up their whole board. They finished the game and I finished my shopping at about the same time which was perfect!
Look at that grin! They were so bummed to hear they were going to the commissary until I handed them their BINGO boards.
I wanted to share this with all of you so go ahead and click on the links below to print out the BINGO boards for you kids too!
