We have some more New Years Eve with kids fun for you all-Water Bottle Noise Maker! This New Years Eve craft is fun to make and shake to ring in the new year. Now I remember banging posts and pans as a kid on new years eve, but these water bottle noise makers are a little more subtle and a lot of fun to make.
Water Bottle Noise Maker
The Water Bottle Noise Maker is a recycled craft so really you just need a few things that are lying around the house. You can use what you have and customize it any way you’d like. I like to put out a variety of materials and see the creativity of each of the individual children.
Materials needed:
- plastic water bottles
- beads (you could also use beans or another small object that will make noise)
- ribbon
- glitter
- craft glue
- stickers
Start by removing the labels and drying out the water bottles – you want to make sure they are completely dry on the inside.
Place a few beads in each bottle and put the lid back on. You want about 10-20 to make a good amount of noise. (You may also want to glue the lid into place).
Next, decorate the bottles. We used whatever we had in the craft closet. The kids chose to paint them with glitter glue and then used the craft glue to attach some jewels that we had. Let them dry completely and then add the curling ribbon to the top of the bottles for a streamer effect. I used a hot glue gun to attach the ribbon so that it would not fall off, but you could also just tie it around the top.
