Looking for easy Winter dinner ideas? Try one of these warming crock pot soup recipes!
When it comes to winter dinner ideas I just love a hot soup! The whole family seems to enjoy a delicious soup, especially on a super cold winter day. The hot soup can just be so comforting, warming your whole body from the inside out.
As always, I like easy dinner ideas – easy dinners in the summer and easy dinners in the winter and easy dinners just about every day of the year. When you have four kids there just isn’t a lot of time to be spent on cooking in the kitchen. And when I AM trying to get dinner prepared that is the exact time that the toddler needs entertainment.
My solution is often the crock pot. I love that I can prep dinner first thing in the morning, often before anyone else is awake to get in my way!
Make a Meal Plan
I have found that slow cooker soup recipes are a great way to save both time and money. I usually add a soup recipe to my meal plan because they are easy to make and can feed a large family for just a few dollars. We always make a meal plan for the week and it saves us thousands each year!
Even though the crock pot is great for not heating up the house in the summertime, I do like having the oven running in the winter to keep it warm and cozy without driving up heating costs. Along with a crock pot soup recipe I will often make a fresh loaf of bread to go with it – the fresh bread is a great filler and using the oven keeps the kitchen nice and warm.
