The morning routine with kids is stressful enough without having to worry about ourselves. It’s often a mad rush to get everyone up and dressed, lunches packed, backpacks ready, and off to school on time – leaving many of us to do the school drop off in our pajamas wearing what’s left over from yesterday’s makeup. No time to wash our face, and look presentable. Well, I just can’t do it. I don’t feel awake, or even alive, unless I’ve at least washed and fixed my face – and it’s not nearly as time consuming as it sounds. I have a 5 minute makeup routine that get’s me out of the house looking presentable even when I’m managing four kids.
Mom’s makeup routine doesn’t have to be difficult or involve tons of products. In fact, my 5 minute makeup routine only involves 5 products!!
5 Minute Makeup Routine for Mom
PRODUCTS:
- Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser
- Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion
- Mineral Foundation
- Bronzer
- Mascara
With those 5 products I am able to read my face in just five minutes.
Step 1: Wash face with Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser by applying to the skin, rub gently and then rinse. Pat dry. The unique low lathering formula allows gentle, yet thorough cleansing. The Cetaphil® skincare products are gentle enough for the entire family, but effective on all skin types – the Gentle Skin Cleanser is fragrance-free and hypoallergenic making it perfect for even my poor acne prone skin.
Step 2: Moisturize with the Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion. This lotion is non-greasy and non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog pores.
Step 3: Use a simple mineral foundation. Choose something close to your skin color that won’t clog pores throughout the day and keeping a natural look.
Step 4: Add bronzer. I choose a bronzer over traditional blush to give my face a bright, fresh look.
Step 5: Mascara. I do not leave the house without it! Add some mascara and even if you were up all night with the baby, no one will know.
That’s it! Five products and five minutes and you will be looking and feeling ‘Wunderphil’ with a fresh, natural look and the confidence to start your day.
What about a night time routine?
You may have noticed that I said I have acne-prone skin. Unfortunately that is the case at 33 years old. I had perfect skin all through my teen years but after having children my hormones just haven’t balanced out, leaving behind blemishes that just keep popping up. Because of this, I have to keep my skin clean and able to breathe. I not only use Cetaphil® products as part of my morning routine but also in the evening. A quick wash with the daily facial cleanser, a bit of moisturizer and I’m ready for bed. Even on the days that I’m just too exhausted I grab one of the Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths – no water involved, the cleansing cloths will gently and thoroughly remove makeup and dirt from the day.
Since I am in my thirties, I also have the aging and fine lines to address so I make sure to use a light moisturizer at night as well. The Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion is great for me since it is light and hypoallergenic. For those of us with drier skin, Cetaphil® also has a Moisturizing Cream that you can use nightly on your face or anywhere that needs a little extra love. The Moisturizing Cream absorbs quickly into the skin and helps prevent recurrence of dryness.
Products for the Whole Family
I first began using Cetaphil® years ago as a body wash for my kids’ sensitive skin. Now, with all of the products available, the whole family uses it.
The Gentle Skin Cleanser is perfect for both my face and the kids’ body, the Gentle Cleansing Bar is great for all-over body cleansing the shower and is specially formulated for dry, sensitive skin, and they even have products for the Babies!
Do you have a special routine that you use to quickly get yourself ready for the day? If you try out my tips with Cetaphil® products I’d love to hear about your experience!
