Being a military family has it’s rewards, for sure. But it also has its set backs, like a very busy schedule and an unpredictable one at that! Some months my husband has a typical ‘day job’ and others he’s out of the country – which has brought us to adopt the family motto “live each day like he will deploy tomorrow”.
This post is in partnership with Gillette SkinGuard – available new at Walmart today.
As our time together is often out of our control we try to make the most of any time we can – and for me, that means if I’m going to squeeze out a few extra minutes during our morning routine I’m definitely going to make that happen!
My husbands career in the Military brings on certain standards he must follow – his uniforms must be a certain way, he must maintain a level of physical fitness, his hair must be cut each week, and he MUST shave every single day.
Because of these standards, his daily morning routine is quite strict! As soon as he wakes he heads to the bathroom to shave, followed by prepping his gym bag, his lunch, and grabbing some coffee – before I know it he’s out the door!
To squeeze out a few extra minutes with him I’ve adjusted his morning routine just a bit…
His gym bag and any gear he needs for the next day is now prepped at night.
I fill his coffee cup for him while I’m getting mine and I have stocked the bathroom for a quick shave.
The need for daily shaving can be really tough on sensitive skin. With sensitive skin he’s been know to really take his time so as not to irritate it and leave with a face full of razor bumps.
To cut down on his shave time in the morning I stocked our bathroom with Gillette’s new SkinGuard Razor, available at Walmart.
Gillette® SkinGuard has a unique SkinGuard bar that is positioned between the blades to minimize tug and pull when shaving. The SkinGuard pushes the skin down between the blades, allowing the razor to cut hair at skin level which helps prevent irritation and razor burn.
To give him the best results I also got the PURE by Gillette shaving gel.
He tried these for the first time this week and the response was great! I asked him how he liked it and he said “OH, this feels great!” – not a man of many words but after a quick kiss goodbye I knew it was a win!
