Are you heading back to school soon? We started this last week and I just love it when I find a quick and fun breakfast that the kids love and are easy to make. It makes our mornings go so smoothly when the kids can grab something they love for breakfast and these blueberry homemade pop tarts are just that!
With just five ingredients you can make a favorite, on the go breakfast food for the kids, at home!
School days are busy enough so I like to have quick and easy things for the kids to grab and eat, either at home or on the go. Well let’s be honest here, any day with 4 kids is a busy one.
The long standing kid favorite for a grab and go breakfast is the beloved Pop Tart. And now, with this easy recipe, you can make your own pop tarts at home!
This recipe is for a blueberry homemade pop tart but you could substitute with your favorite fruit jelly or jam depending on what your kids favorite is. If your kids anything like mine, then you might be making several different flavors of these since everyone loves something different.
This homemade pop tart recipe is for the air fryer. If you don’t have an air fryer, pop them in your conventional oven and adjust the cook time and temperature accordingly.
Blueberry Homemade Pop Tart Breakfast Pastry
These are actually semi-homemade because we are using pre-made pie crust – making this a great kid-made recipe too! Any time I can get the kids in the kitchen we always have a great time.
Ingredients
- Pre-Made Pie Crust
- Blueberry Jelly/Jam
- Vanilla Icing
- Sprinkles
- 1 Egg
Directions:
Roll out the pie crust and cut out 3 inch rectangles.
Place a teaspoon of blueberry jelly in the center of half of the rectangles.
Place a rectangle on top of the blueberry rectangles & press edges together with a fork.
Egg wash each rectangle.
Place in air fryer for 5-8 minutes on 375. These fry really quick so keep an eye on them!
Remove from air fryer and smother in icing.
Sprinkle away!
Serve & enjoy!
