So my mom told me about this recipe that my sister told her about…yes, that is how my family works, you tell one of us something and within 24 hours the rest of us will know– just a bunch of hens clucking around 🙂 Anyway, the Cranberry Chicken Recipe that my sister had is only a couple of ingredients so I thought I’d give it a try. Boy am I glad that we did! My whole family gave it rave reviews and it was easy to make. And even better, it can double as a crock pot recipe!
If you are looking for some delicious Thanksgiving Style home cooking I highly suggest making this Cranberry Chicken Recipe with a side of mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green beans.
- 2-4 ChickenBreasts (we use 4)
- 1/2 bottle French or Catalina Dressing
- 1 can cranberry sauce (I like whole cranberry sauce)
- 1 package onion soup mix
Place chicken breasts in a casserole dish. Whisk together dressing, cranberry sauce, and onion soup mix. Pour over chicken and bake at 350* for 20-30 minutes or until chicken is completely done. Serve with your favorite sides. The extra sauce is absolutely delicious over roasted red potatoes!
Cranberry Chicken Crock Pot Freezer Meal (makes TWO dinners)
- 4-8 chicken breasts
- 1 bottle French or Catalina Dressing
- 2 cans cranberry sauce
- 2 packages onion soup mix
Place half of the chicken in a 1 gallon ziplock freezer bag, place the other half in a second freezer bag. Whisk together dressing, cranberry sauce and soup mix. Pour half of the mixture into each ziplock bag. Freeze and defrost over night before cooking. Place in crock pot and cook on low 6-8 hours.
