Every Holiday party needs fun and festive foods – and some festive drinks! Usually I write family posts but today’s recipe is all about the grown ups (sorry kids)! A Pomegranate-Lime Christmas Sangria that is perfect for your Christmas celebration. Seasonal fruits and a mixture of red and green colors tastes amazing and brightens up your Holiday spread.
Doesn’t that just look delicious?! The mix of tangy lime and sweet pomegranates is so refreshing and a nice alternative to the usual dark winter sangria or a mulled wine. Of course I love that everyone will be toting around a festive red and green drink, too!
Pomegranate-Lime Christmas Sangria
You must be 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. When doing so, please drink responsibly. No drinking and driving, and no drinking and texting!
Ingredients:
- 3 cans DASANI Sparkling Lime Water
- 2 bottles of Pinot Grigio
- Pomegranate Vodka
- 3-4 Limes
- 2 fresh Pomegranates
- Simple Syrup (see directions to make below)
- Red sugar sprinkles
- Corn Syrup
You will first want to make your simple syrup. In a small sauce pan add together 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves and then simmer until slightly thickened.
Now you will want to slice your limes thinly. Add them to a large pitcher or container. Cut open your pomegranates and add the seeds to your pitcher of limes. Stir in your simple syrup and pomegranate vodka. Allow your fruit to soak for 1 hour.
Fill your pitcher with both bottles of pinot grigio and the Dasani sparkling water. Stir well.
Serve your Pomegranate-Lime Christmas Sangria in sugar rimmed wine glasses for a festive flare! Run corn syrup around the edge of your glass and dip in red sprinkles. Garnish with a lime wedge. You can throw a couple of pomegranate seeds on top too!
DASANI Sparkling Water is available at Walmart and perfect for sparkling the holidays! DASANI sparkling water is also zero calories, unsweetened, zero artificial colors, and it’s caffeine-free making it the perfect mixer! It comes in four Sparkling Flavors: Lime, Berry, Lemon, Black Cherry in 12 pack of 12 oz cans .
If the kids are really wanting their own special drink, you could definitely make a mock tail version of this as well! Instead of pinot grigio add sparkling white grape juice and omit the vodka. Fun and festive for the littles as well.
