I do not make these nearly as often as I should, they are really good! This isn’t a complete recipe but easy instructions to make your own Tacos at home.
Ingredients:
- 12-14 White Corn Tortillas
- 1 lb. Ground Beef
- Shredded Cheese
- Cooking Oil
- Onion Powder
- Garlic Salt
- Cumin
- Toothpicks
Directions:
Cook the beef in a skillet until fully browned. Season while cooking with Onion Powder, Garlic Salt, and Cumin. In a large skillet (I use my griddle that is shallow but large enough to cover two burners on the stove, I can fry 6-8 tacos at a time this way) cover the bottom with about 1/2″ of cooking oil, and heat on Med-High. Take one corn tortilla (they work best if they are fresh, older or refrigerated tortillas will crack and break) and place a spoonful of ground beef along the center line, top with shredded cheese. Fold tortilla in half and use a toothpick (like a straight pin used for holding fabric in place) to keep it closed. Place taco into the oil and cook each side until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel. Repeat until the remainder of the ground beef has been used.
When serving tacos this way I like to put out a variety of “stuffers”. You can open the tacos and top them with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced jalapenos, Salsa, or sour cream. Really, you can personalize them to make them anyway you want OR just eat them as is 🙂
Enjoy!
