Freezer Meal Prep Resource Guide
Slow Cooker
Let’s start with the obvious. You will need a good slow cooker. I prefer one that is programmable so that I can set it for the time that I need. My favorite slow cooker will then shut the machine down to “warm” at the end of the cooking time which keeps our dinner from burning and is great if you are going to be out of the house for longer than 8 hours.
Freezer Bag Stand
Let me just say, this little contraption is AMAZING! So helpful for getting your ingredients into the bag without a mess. For around $10 you can purchase a pack of two from amazon. Highly recommend it.
Freezer Bags
Although you can fit many of the recipes into quart sized bags, I purchase high quality gallon sized freezer bags. It is easier to fit the ingredients into them and they will stack nicely in your freezer.
Printable Labels
You can hand write your labels directly onto your bag with a permanent marker but if you are part of the Fill Your Freezer Challenge I am providing you with a printable pdf file that will print directly onto an Avery Shipping Label (8164) to save you time. You can purchase your labels from an office supply store or an online shop such as Amazon. Load them into your printer and print the .pdf file that I provide. So easy!
Slow Cooker Liners
If you want to save yourself some clean up then you are going to want to purchase a few boxes of slow cooker liners. You simply line your crock pot with one of these little bags before dumping your ingredients in. When you are done, pull out the bag and throw it away – No mess!
Recipes
As part of the Fill Your Freezer Challenge, I provide you with all the recipes you need plus a shopping list. If you are looking to get started on your own, Pinterest is a great place to find recipe inspiration but I highly recommend The Chicken & Beef Dump Cookbooks by Sharla of The Chaos and the Clutter! She has tons of freezer friendly crock pot recipes.
