These are the best ideas for a Thanksgiving Kids Table!
Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to be together. Mom, Dad, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and lots and lots of kids.
The scene in our family’s home growing up was always, women in the kitchen, men watching football, and kids running wild and eating everything in site.
And then there is the inevitable Kids Table, where they are put off at a smaller table somewhere to make room for all of the adults at the dining table.
Keeping the children entertained while waiting for their feast can be challenging, and setting up a fun area for them is a great idea. These Thanksgiving Kids Table Ideas are sure to help keep the kids out of the kitchen, and the pies, until dinner time.
Set these scene with a table just for them. I love the idea of covering the table with butcher paper. This is something we often do at our parties and it makes so much sense to do for the Thanksgiving Kids Table. Add a few creative crayon holders like these Felt Turkeys or Pilgrim Hats and they can color to their hearts content.
If you’re looking for something a little more traditional you can print out some FREE Thanksgiving Coloring Pages or a Thanksgiving activity mat. The older kids will really enjoy these printable Thanksgiving Madlibs.
Get creative with the place settings. This is all about making it fun and kid friendly. Instead of plain place cards use these Little Turkey’s photo napkin holders at each child’s seat. For glassware, instead of the traditional stuff, some Turkeys on plastic cups are perfect!
Serve them a little treat, like this blessing mix, to hold them over until the great feast. I love this little printable poem that reminds them of the meaning of thanksgiving.
Don’t forget the games! Before or after dinner get the whole family involved and play some fun games, like this Thanksgiving Bingo. And you can keep the conversation going around the table with some fun printable Thanksgiving Conversation Cards.
