Four, very active, children with schedules to match. This doesn’t lend much time to for me to clean my house so I am always looking for a good shortcut, hack, or gadget to keep a clean home. Aside from using a weekly cleaning schedule, cleaning gadgets can cut down on some serious time cleaning, and when you have young kids in the house you know just how valuable your time is.
Not only is keeping the house spotless while there are kids running around but he last thing I want to be doing is spending my time scrubbing walls and floors when I could be spending that time with my children.
So I turn to a few handy cleaning gadgets that save me time, and make some tasks so easy that even the kids can help out.

Cleaning Gadgets Every Mom Needs to Keep a Clean Home
So let’s start with the everyday (or week) tasks that need to be done because, well, you have kids. We all know that every mom needs a good vacuum and a good mop to get those extra messy floors clean.
It truly amazes me what the kids can manage to spill on my floors! So, what floor cleaners are going to be tough enough to stand up to the test of kids?
Best Floor Cleaners
Well first up is the hoover floor mate hard floor cleaner. This machine is absolutely amazing. It is a little bit pricey coming in around $117 but with spin scrub brushes that effortlessly scrub your floor from all angles it might be worth it to spend the little bit extra. If you’ve every tried to hand scrape an unknown sticky substance off of your floor then you understand just how valuable spin scrubbers might be.
And just as you have a special cleaner for the hard surface floors, you definitely need it’s counterpart for the carpets and upholstery. A hand held spot cleaner for carpets and upholstry is a must for moms of young children (ahem, potty training accidents) or very clumsy older children. I like the bissell spot clean (priced at $129) because it is compact and hand held making it easy to move about your home or take out to the car to spot treat the seats.

To go with your regular vacuum cleaning you can purchase the Exten-vac, flat vacuum attachment for all those incredibly hard to reach spots – like under the refrigerator! It’s priced at just $16 making it a totally affordable add on to use with the vacuum cleaner that you already have.

I really like cleaning tools that can handle double duty so when I find one like the multi-use silicone cleaning tool for the kitchen, laundry, and pets I get a little excited. You can use this little gadget in the with laundry liquid or stain remover to loosen and lift stains. Gentle on fabrics, in the kitchen to safely scrub dishes, pots and pans without scratching or clean fruits & vegetables and it won’t mildew like kitchen sponges! And you can also use them to groom pets wet or dry and lift pet hair off upholstered furniture like magic! So ya, it’s like a little miracle gadget – I’ll take one (or 3)!
Best Cleaning Tools for Hard to Reach Spaces
When it comes to getting down to the nitty gritty of cleaning in my house it usually just doesn’t happen all that often – or at all. Seriously I cannot tell you the last time, if ever, I have dusted my mini blinds. I’ve tried, I really have, but then I start and it takes SO LONG that I give up.
The same thing goes to those sippy cup straws – I run them through the dishwasher and half the time they still have stuff stuck on the inside so I toss them.

And don’t even get me started on the inside of my car! That’s just impossible to get super clean unless you pay someone an arm and a leg to detail it.

Best Bathroom Cleaning Gadget
Moving on to the bathroom. There are places in my bathroom that I just cannot get clean! Those little corners in the shower door, on the floor around the base of the toilet (thanks a lot nine year old boy) – they are just impossible. I was so excited when I found the sonic scrubber with it’s little oscillating brushes. It can clean those hard to reach and difficult to clean spaces in a quarter of the time it would take me with a hand scrubber AND get’s them expertly clean! At a price of $26.99, I’ll splurge for that one.
Best Cleaning Gadgets for Kids
Ok so what about the kids? They can help out too and some gadgets make cleaning easy and fun for them, too. An automatic push sweeper is perfect for the younger ones that can’t quite figure out how to sweep a pile into a dust pan. And the slipper genie? Well it’s just brilliantly awesome! Slip these on your feet and clean the floors while you have a dance party!
Do you have a favorite cleaning gadget? I’d love to try it out!
